Heart Strings...

I have to admit that when I am working on preparing images for my clients I get a little emotional...I have teared up a few times.  I really enjoy taking pictures of kids....because they are cute and little and say really funny things.  However a family photo has an unmistakable value...it is a treasure.  Isn't my job cool...I give treasures!  Family photos really tug at my heart strings.  It is hard not to feel a bit emotional when I have these beautiful families staring back at me as I work.  It is even more emotional when I know them.  Sheesh!

Becky thanks so much!  You guys are the best!  I absolute am in love with these!!!

First time for everything...

When I spoke to Jennifer about booking a family session she said that this would be their first family photo. I was thrilled because we did something spectacular during her session. We created a snapshot of what her family looked like at this time....Three year old big sister Anna with her pretty long hair and almost sitting up, 6 month old Patrick with his darling smile! We learned that Daddy likes to turn Patrick upside down and he doesn't mind one bit! Oh and there was a first for me too, first couple climbing trees for a picture! Jennifer, you have a beautiful family and you made my day when you e-mailed me to see if I was available.  Enjoy...

So Nice...

to get together with this sweet family of four.  We chose the perfect spot and the perfect day to meet.  The weather was not only dry but it was warm!  I have known Jennifer since I was in college and she was in high school.  In fact, I was her cheerleading coach.  Fast forward to present, we have enjoyed serving on the board in our children's preschool.  She and her husband also own an establishment in town that has served my family many "hot eats and cool treats!" : )

I was so glad that she asked me to take her family pictures.  Jennifer, thanks for contacting me!  Tell Moose and Button that they did a fabulous job...oh and Jeremy too!

Home Sweet Home...

This is Joe. He is a senior this year. His Mom, Kari, contacted me about taking his senior pictures at the end of the summer. Our orginal appointment had to be rescheduled because Joe had an unfortunate experience getting his hair cut for his session. But we were able to reschedule and it all worked out perfectly. Kari wanted Joe's pictures to be taken at their home. Their home and property is at the top of a hill and is surounded by hay fields....so pretty. You know you are in a great place when you pull up and the American flag is flying and everyone greets you with a firm handshake. Kari thank you so much for asking me to this for your family and thank you so much for showing me around your home...I loved it! And Joe have a great football session and a fantastic senior year.

Business Women to Business Women...

I met up with the very talented personal trainer Tracey Gannaway, owner of Encore Fitness, last week.  We didn't get together to workout, although I think that would be great sometime.  She needed a professional headshot for a biography she is putting together.
It was great to see her place of business.  It was a super nice space.  She has done a fantastic job with all the details there.  Really, really enjoyed this session Tracey, thank you!

Bethany | High School Senior

I am so flattered that this young lady saw some of my work and told her mom that she wanted me to take her senior pictures. I could not be more thrilled with the way our session went.

Bethany, you picked a fantastic location and you are super photogenic my friend. I think you and I make a great team because you are a natural in front of the camera.  It was so nice to meet you and your Mom.

I told you, that you would make my camera look good! Enjoy and I will post more as I continue to work on them.

Caleb | 4 months old

This little lad met me in the park. He put on a show for his Mama and I. He was super quick to smile! The weather was perfect for me to catch some amazing sparkle in his beautiful brown eyes.  Look close Janica, because I bet he has grown since we got together. You are one smart cookie to have pictures take of him now!

By the way the blanket that he is laying on was made by his Mom...awwww so sweet! Photobucket

Personality Plus...

I really enjoyed how this high school senior session unfolded. You see we started in my studio and got some of the portrait shots done so we could go outside after that. This young man is personality plus!! But at the start of the session I don't think he was quite sure how much of his style and flair he could let come through into his poses. I am all for that!  And after he knew he had the go ahead from me...we had a blast!  I promise fun candid shots and also standard posed shots. I made sure to capture both because like he said, "It's just me!". His Mom said it best when she commented that we got some great "Mom" shots and some shots that Raji wanted to do.

Amanda, thanks so much for including me in this step of prepping your son for his senior year...it makes a gal feel young again hanging out with these young adults!

I had a great time getting to know you a little bit better Raji and you are going to have a fantastic year!

Notice how...

this family has five children.
Photobucket
Notice how impressed and flattered I am that they come all the way from the Portland area (an hour plus) to have me take their pictures....again I am totally flattered by this!! Thanks, you guys! Notice how their birth order is two boys, one girl, another boy and then a girl...that is the exact birth order of myself and my siblings. Notice how connected that made me feel to them right away....well it did! Notice how it made me feel as if a little snapshot of my brothers and sister were standing there right in front of me...I am the youngest of the five just like this little lump of sugar!
