More Family...

These folks, who happen to be another one of my brother and sister in-laws, contacted me about getting their family pictures taken and it was my pleasure. We met at the end of summer on their beautiful property. These two are just down right good people. Do you know what I mean? They want to do right by you and they want you to do right by them. And I love that!

And I happen to think that my sister in-law is one of the classiest women I know. She is just a blast to talk to and I have enjoyed every conversation. She is good people too! And did I mention GORGEOUS!

Photobucket
There is not a shortage of places to take a photo on their property. It is a photographers dream!

This is Jessie and she is such a sweetie. My kids adore her and love when she is around or we visit her. She is a cowgirl at heart but also knows her way around a soccer field quite well...GO JESSIE!
Photobucket
This young man is a senior this year. He is an athlete just like his sister. He loves playing with all the younger cousins at family gatherings...Adam you don't know how much Aunties appreciate that?
Photobucket
Drew is in college and was super nice to come and be part of the family photos. He had no problem coming up with some GQ poses for me. Thanks Drew!
Photobucket
One of my absolute favorite locations of the entire shoot happened quite organically. I was shooting Jessie and I turned around to see my neice Katia sitting in the grass and I told her to stay there. So perfect!

If you look closely at the next few images...they are all carrying guns...how cool is that! A first for me that is for sure. When Sandra and I set up the session she mentioned that she wanted some of the images to be processed this way. I hope you like them Sandra. Personally, I love them.

Date with Danny...

So, I got to spend part of my Friday evening with this little fella. Although, at first he wasn't giving up the smiles, on the cute-o-meter he is still off the charts!Photobucket
Then he decided a little grin might be ok.
Photobucket
Then he showed me all the teeth he has been growing. In my family, that is a what we call a "tic-tac" smile!
Photobucket
Isn't he the best!

Oh, by the way. Danny brought his Mom and Dad too. They love him to bits...I can tell!!

Thank goodness for nice weather...

I was so thrilled to know that the weather was going to cooperate with me today. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to meet up with this Party of Six...

This family is, well, my family. Steph and Byron are my Sister and Brother In-laws. In-laws aside, they are one funny couple. They are parents to...

Sir Tamar, who was not giving up the toothy grin for me right away. However, he did let this one slip in and I caught it. Although, he is 10, he was looking much more like a college student to me. Listen to your Auntie when I say, "Stop growing up, would ya'".

Photobucket

Lord Joshua, made me work extra hard to get a grin on record. He quickly flashed this grin at me and I think it is a handsome shot! Well done Josh!
Photobucket

Miss Ellie, wasn't shy at all with the sweet smiles and she even gave a giggle or two. I am really like this one of her. Blue is such a good color on her!
Photobucket

Lastly, Mr. Nolan, who has never, ever, turned away from Auntie's camera, was giving it up for me. Way to go young one.

So Happy Together...

are the best words to describe these two.
Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Slade Thackeray!
Photobucket
I have known Brianne since she was a teenager. I have known Slade's family for about the same amount of time. When I realized that these two young people had met and where dating, I knew that sparks were going to fly. I knew this because they both have the best personalities, super talented and I mean look at them, they are beautiful people.
Photobucket
Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of this special day with you. I wish you all the blessings in the world!

Two young men and a little lady...

My friend Janica asked me to take some pictures of her family. I am so glad we got together. First of all, her daughter, Akaila, is just too cute and full of spunk! Near the end of our session I layed down in the grass on my tummy and guess what she did. Exactly what I did. See what I mean...what a good little girl!

Photobucket

She didn't hold back on sharing her smiles and personality with me and my camera. It is going to be hard for me to choose the best images because there are so many cute ones.
Photobucket

Her big brother is very smart young man and I might need him to come with me on some of my photo sessions to scout out good spots for pictures. He told me, as I was taking some pictures of his sister, that he found a cool spot. He was right this little hollow spot in this tree trunk ended up being my favorite too! Way to go Ryan.

And Braxton was willing to give me this very handsome pose. He looks so grown up to me. Janica I hope you like what you see so far and thanks for asking me to take these!Photobucket

In case you are wondering...

it is images like these that make my heart go pitter pat. This is why I love photography. This is why I really enjoy taking pictures of children. Because I can freeze time. I was able to record how sweat Eden is at 6 months old. How well she can sit up like a big girl.
Photobucket
How cute she looks in her little yellow sun dress.
Photobucket
How I didn't take it personally at all when she did this:
Photobucket
How cute it was that she loved peek-a-boo and her Mom whispered to me "It never gets old".
Photobucket
How even at 6 months she understands the importance of accessorizing.
Photobucket
Oh, I should mention that she brought her 4 older sisters with her too. Princess Claire:

Miss Nellie:

Miss Brooke:

and Miss Sophie:

In case you were also wondering where these young ladies got all of their beauty...it is all her fault.
Photobucket
Thanks Allison for bring the girls out and making my camera look good!

Class of 2010...

I would like you to meet Karly. She is graduating from High School this year. I spoke to her Mom about a year ago about taking her senior pictures. I am so glad that we were able to work together. We decided to design a custom announcement for her to send to her family and friends.

Here is the front: (There is text on her copy, but I removed it for the blog)

Here is the back:

She was thrilled with the end result and I was able to print all the copies she needed through my professional print lab. I was thrilled with the result as well. The hard copy of the announcement turned out great!

Here are a few more from our session.

Beautiful Little Lady....

Such a fun opportunity to make sure my friend, Shar, had some pictures of her daughter on her special day. Leah was baptized this month and she was smiling all day. Her Grandmother made her dress for her. The little locket around her neck has a picture of Leah in it and a picture of Christ...so sweet.

What is the Buzz about?

My daughter, Avery, has owed several different dress up costumes in her life. We had Tinkerbell, Cinderella and a beautiful pink ballerina. She never wore any of them. The only time they got played with was when her cousins or friends would come over.

The other day I spotted this little bumble bee costume at the store and knew it had to come home with me and I would worry about finding someone to wear it later. I actually had Ruth's big sister (see post below) in mind but we ran out of time. Amanda, we'll do it another time for sure!

What I wasn't prepared for was Avery falling in love with it and begging me to wear it. When I say begging, I mean to the point that the first thing she said to me when she came home from school the other day was, simply, "Bumble Bee Costume!" I didn't ever imagine she would like it so much and that she would ever put it on...go figure!

So, I had to take her out to my new favorite spot. I love this little corner in our barn because the light is so yummy. I'm still not sure if the costume is mine or hers at this point??
